Citrus
College opened its doors to the 2009 school year with
a new distributed audio and video system for their
multi-purpose Student Center.
Vizual
Symphony audio engineer Jim Markus assisted with the
design of the system, which includes four BSS Audio Soundweb
London touch panel controllers, two SP Controls video
control panels, 18 JBL ceiling speakers and two JBL outdoor
speakers and two 3500 lumen Panasonic projectors. |

The
Student Center is used on a regular basis for large meetings,
orientations, community events, student activities, lectures
and staff development. It is a multi-purpose room that until
the upgrade was a constant problem to administration. “Our
previous system was piece-mealed together. It was a band-aid
solution
and the any new technology we brought in was not compatible.” said
Citrus College Student Activities Supervisor Adrienne Thompson.
The
new system consists of eight zones for individual audio control;
the primary requirement of the project. “I like that
it is so user friendly and that I didn’t have to take
notes to figure it out.” said Thompson. She
said she chose Vizual Symphony because a recommendation and
enjoyed the
good customer service she can fall back on. Although the semester
is just getting underway, Thompson said she is excited about
how the new audio system will improve the use of the Student
Center for faculty and students alike. “The
students are going to love it!” said Thompson.
